Age range for teenagers
Our English summer camp is for teens aged 13 to 17.
It's a great way for students to build independence, explore new interests, and broaden their worldview.
Children under 13 years old can join our English summer camp for children.
13-year-olds can also choose to join the younger group if they prefer, ensuring that every student has a personalised and enjoyable summer experience.
English programme
Our residential English course for teens combines dynamic lessons with practical workshops, such as digital photography and cookery.
These hands-on workshops let students explore interests, try new activities, and build life skills while improving their English. Workshops vary annually but always include creative projects like drama or songwriting, practical skills like cookery and bushcraft, and language-focused sessions on grammar and pronunciation.
English lessons for students 13+ use engaging National Geographic textbooks and real-world materials like articles, videos, and TED Talks to inspire learning and improve presentation skills.
We encourage Real Learning and offer an optional English Focus service to help students target their linguistic strengths and goals for maximum progress.
Our English summer camp camp combines fun and study for teens, offering the best of both worlds!
Accommodation
ECS English summer schools are residential, meaning everyone stays on campus in purpose-built accommodation.
Teens live in separate areas of a modern boarding house with dedicated house parents to provide supervision and support. Girls aged 13+ can stay in a separate section within the boarding house for younger children (8–12) if they prefer.
Each student has a single study bedroom with a hand basin, desk, and wardrobe. Some rooms have removable partitions, allowing students to share with a friend or relative of the same age and gender.
Teens enjoy a large supervised relaxation area with a film room and a games room featuring surf boards, a table tennis and a pool table!
Living together helps students build responsibility, improve organisation, and expand their horizons by speaking English and interacting with peers from different countries and cultures.
Sports, activities and excursions
At our international summer school, students improve their English while enjoying fun activities with their peers from around the world.
Mornings are for lessons and workshops, while afternoons and weekends feature sports, trips, social events, and relaxation time with friends.
As well as the inclusive activity programme, teens can join a special weekend trip to London. We also offer English plus golf, English plus tennis, and a day trip to Stonehenge.
A caring environment
Our experienced summer camp team supervises and supports pupils throughout their stay, from arrival to departure by plane or train.
All activities are risk-assessed, carefully planned, and designed to be fun, safe, and inclusive. Staff are always available to help during games, sports, social activities, and trips.
Every staff member undergoes strict safeguarding checks and training. We have fully qualified first aiders, and the swimming pool is always supervised by a lifeguard.
