ECS is a residential summer school where everyone lives together on campus.
Pupils stay in comfortable boarding houses, supervised by experienced house parents. Accommodation is divided by age group and gender.
- Ages 8–12: Younger pupils stay in Grosvenor House, a modern boarding house with private rooms featuring a hand basin, desk, and wardrobe. Sliding partitions can create shared rooms for those who prefer it. Grosvenor also has a cosy common room with seating and a large TV.
- Ages 13–17: Older pupils stay in Prichard House, another modern facility with private rooms and the same amenities. Girls and boys are housed on separate floors, each with a dedicated house parent. Prichard includes a recreation area with table tennis, a pool table, and a film room.
Teen girls may also opt to stay in a separate area of Grosvenor House while enjoying access to Prichard’s recreation facilities in the evenings.

The local area
ECS is located in the beautiful southern English countryside near Shaftesbury - pictured - surrounded by beaches, gardens, and lively towns and cities.
Each year, we organise a variety of trips for all age groups, including sightseeing, museum visits, exhibitions, and shopping. These excursions let students explore local history and culture while practicing English in real-life settings.
Adventure is always close by - most trips are just 25 minutes to 1.5 hours away. We also enjoy walks and countryside outings straight from campus. A 30-minute walk to Shaftesbury is a favourite afternoon activity for students.
