We wholly condemn the actions of Russia in choosing to choosing to start a new war through an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, a sovereign nation.

ECS is based on the principle of friendship between pupils from different countries and cultures. Some of our proudest moments have been seeing friendships form between children whose countries are in conflict. Children are not responsible for what their country does and should not be used to make a political point. We will therefore continue to welcome children from every country of the world, regardless of the sometimes appalling behaviour of their governments. We will communicate to all pupils that ECS is a safe place where everyone must be treated with respect regardless of where they come from. By promoting friendship and understanding among our pupils today we hope to help create a better world tomorrow.
